As word spreads and people from near and far flock to witness her miracles, a disgraced journalist (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) hoping to revive his career visits the small New England town to investigate. The film has been directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos and revolves around the supernatural findings in Banfield, Massachusetts. The Unholy follows Alice, a young hearing-impaired girl who, after a supposed visitation from the Virgin Mary, is inexplicably able to hear, speak and heal the sick. It is scary and interesting but towards the end this movie just bombs Everything you saw, everything that scared you was discredited because the ending was ridiculous. The Unholy is a 2021 supernatural thriller/horror based on a novel by James Herbert named Shrine. However, when a mysterious death befalls the churchвЂ™s priest, Fenn believes that something more sinister is afoot. I was hoping this movie would live up to its description but it did not. As the hopeful masses descend upon this off-the-beaten-path town, Fenn sees this as an opportunity to redeem his reputation and resurrect his career. The Unholy is adapted from a 1983 James Herbert novel, and as written and directed by Evan Spiliotopoulos it could almost be a faith-based horror film. When word spreads that AliceвЂ™s power to heal is attributed to the Virgin Mary, it fans the flames of curiosity from those near and far to witness the miraculous occur firsthand.
